The necessity of casting it for its escape cost if you want it to remain on the battlefield can make it a hazard in EDH if you somewhat depend on your graveyard, but its a risk worth taking

When upgrading, figure out the right ratio of mana / protection / disruption / card advantage / recursion / tutors that you like for the deck

Overtime, I ended up adding more since I realized I needed efficient self mill payoff cards like Reanimate and Overwhelming Remorse or else the deck was a little too clunky

By the time you can cast this, games are essentially over
